Skis, fat skis, shaped skis, snowskis

Atomic, Dynastar, K2, Line, Rossignol, Salomon, Volkl and more. Fat skis, mid-fat skis, shaped skis, parabolic skis, powder skis? What the heck does all this mean?  You need bigger boards.

Pay close attention to the width of the ski's tip, waist and tail. The more hourglass shape the ski has, the quicker it will turn and the less it will want to go straight. The straighter the lines of the ski, the harder it will be to turn and the more it will be comfortable haulin butt.

Fat skis, powder skis - Wide waist for stability

Fat skis or powder skis are generally anything with a waist width of more than 85mm. The extra width underfoot provides a stability once provided only by extremely stiff skis.

Now you can enjoy a smooth, stable ride at high speeds on skis that have a relatively soft flex. They are forgiving when the going gets tough and they'll hold an edge at warp speed through the crud and variable terrain.

Sounds too good to be true? Demo some of the skis in this category and see what we're talking about.
